These programs are very popular on Goodreads but, as far as I know, have not been implemented on too many blogs.
Basically, how it works is that authors offer free ecopies of their book to readers who, in return, agree to read the book and leave reviews on Amazon and The Writers’ Shack. It benefits authors by giving them much needed feedback and reviews for their books, and benefits readers by giving them access to free books.
Before I commit to this as a program on The Writers’ Shack, I would like to gauge interest from both authors and readers.
Please answer the survey below and we will decide to go forward or not based on the responses.
Create your free online surveys with SurveyMonkey , the world’s leading questionnaire tool.
I will close the survey and publish the findings at the end of May, 2014.
While you can leave your vote anonymously, if you would like me to follow up with you personally once the survey is complete, please leave a comment below indicating whether you are an author, reader or both. That way I can email you when it begins.
Please note that providing your book for free does not guarantee you a five star review. In fact, you may get some negative reviews. The key here is providing honest reviews and plenty of exposure for your book. Not only will every review be posted on Amazon and anywhere else the reader chooses to post it (Barnes and Noble, Goodreads, Smashwords, Apple, etc), but every review will also be posted on The Writers’ Shack, and pushed out to our large network of readers.
Authors, if you want more information on the programs in general, check out David Estes post on Making the Most of Read for Review programs or ask questions in the comments below.
